Sorry i have been gone for a while after i had written the fairyloot post i had to clean my flat and pack as i went to spend time with my family so i haven't had the time to write. I also didn't have the best mental health time recently and had tried multiple times to finish two post i have been working on but wasn't liking what i have been writing so i thought it was best to take a little break.
I thought the best and easiest post for me to start back up on would be a tag and wanted to do the unpopular opinions tag.
1. A book or series you didn't like.
There are a few books and series that i don't like and is hard to chose between them. I think out of the books i can think of it will have to be the shatter me series by Tahereh Mafi. I love series and it was so hyped up in the book community. when i got back into reading i was looking at what to read and Shatter me was so popular that i thought i would try it. I had read the first book and thought it was alright, tried to read the second book and dnf'd it. i just couldn't get through it, i don't know why so was disappointed.
2. A book or series you like but everyone else hates.
Most of the books i have read are popular and loved so it is hard to think of one. I looked on goodreads and the first book that i liked and has the lowest rating is The Bone season by Samantha Shannon. I originally read this book when it first came out, i had seen Samantha Shannon on BBC news and was intrigued. I have seen a few people on booktube who have unhualed the book.
3. A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did not want them to end up with or an OTP that you don’t like.
This question took me a while to think about. Most couples in books i agree with and love. I think it will have to be Harry and Ginny. I like the idea of Ginny and Luna together and think they would be so much cuter together.
4. A Genre you don't reach for.
There are a lot of genres i don't reach for but it is mainly erotica and romance. I have never wanted to read any book in these genres, i find them boring and never anything interesting about the plot.
5. A popular character you don't like.
It has to be Harry Potter. He always just irritates me and i want to punch him. He is so dumb and annoying.
6. A popular author you can't get into.
Like the last question this is an easy one for me, it is defiantly John Green. His books are just so samey and so are his characters. He writes teens that are so mature and old, it would be fine if a character or two were but so many are it is so unrealistic.
7. A popular trope you are tired of seeing.
Another easy question it is the chosen one trope. It is so over done now and so boring. I like seeing characters train to be able to do something and it was a decision and not something that they were destined to do and thrown into it.
8. A popular series you have no interest in reading.
I have no interest in reading 50 shades of grey, as i mentioned above i don't care for erotica so as one of the most popular erotica books it is going to be this series.
9. The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or TV show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?
There aren't many books to TV or movie adaption that i have read as i hadn't read in so long so i had only watch the TV show or movie for a while. The first and only one at the moment that comes to mind is Love, Simon which is the film for Simon vs the homo sapiens agenda. i like the book and was a 4 star read but i loved the movie so much, it was hilarious and cute and got so many people who don't read to watch the film.
